Biography
David Dugan is a Senior Management Professional with an extensive background in Information Technology and Operations. He has more than 15 years experience leading companies to greater growth and profitability. David offers excellent leadership, analysis, team building and problem-solving skills, as well as an innate ability to understand and explain technology. His experience working with multiple industries has furnished him with a unique skill set.
David is currently the President and General manager of Reading Crane and Engineering Company. In this Chief Executive role, he has broad responsibility for providing leadership to the growth and quality of the business. He is responsible for all functional areas of the company and reports directly to the chairman of the board. He has been tasked with initiatives including increasing the growth and stability of the company, developing a team atmosphere and culture, rebuilding the sales and marketing department and developing the company vision.
Prior to Reading Crane and Engineering David was the General Manager of ProSign Company, a position that afforded him with many opportunities to expand his abilities. David’s executive leadership, coupled with his extensive Information Technology abilities, enabled ProSign Company to experience unparalleled growth and profitability. Under David’s direction, the company developed systems that set them apart from the competition, enabling them to not only increase their market share, but also continue to increase profits.
Prior to his employment with ProSign Company, David was the president of DD&C, an IT / Business Consulting company that he founded in 1995. The company’s core business was providing hardware, software and consulting expertise to the business community. DD&C employed a staff of eight, and serviced the greater Philadelphia and New York areas. The growth of the internet and the company’s strong customer base enabled David to leverge the firm into emerging fields, such as eCommerce and web development.
Early in David’s career, he was employed by Swiss Farm Stores, where he was quickly elevated to Regional Manager. He handled all of the day-to-day operations for multiple locations, and was considered to be one of the senior managers. David was also key in the company’s technological evolution, being responsible for the first PC’s to be used at the store level.
David has a history of providing exceptional results throughout his career. Representative examples include:
- Salvaged a multimillion dollar customer by identifying miscommunications, rebuilding relationships and forming personal bonds with their key people
- Secured and renegotiated a $3 million dollar contract, removing penalty clauses and increasing overall profitability
- Utilized Agile software development methodology to enhance the SDLC of multiple applications, including several custom ERP packages
- Initiated QC procedures, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in rework while improving customer satisfaction
- Developed and deployed a dynamic eCommerce solution, securing company sales and profits while reducing costs up to 50%
- Reversed a less than desirable employee retention trend by utilizing expert teambuilding techniques
- Deployed a custom document management solution that improved efficiencies by over 20% and reduced costs by 30%
- Created an Enterprise level software application, solving specific needs of a niche market
- Designed a high capacity backup system, preventing catastrophic data loss while reducing maintenance overhead
David is currently pursuing his B.S. in Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University. He has consistently displayed leadership qualities throughout his career and personal life. David is married with two children and enjoys traveling, camping, hiking and spending time with his family.
